During the summer of 2022 (June 26th) we started a project called TeenTrees with the goal of planting trees at Bangkok Seedling Center in order to help restore the environment. By fund-raising 300,000 baht, we were able to afford the seedlings to plant as well as the labour necessary to take care of the land for the next 10 years. On June 26th, with the help of The Royal Forest Department, we planted flowering plants and perennial plants across 8000 square metres of land. Not only does perennial plants help rejuvenate soil fertility and health, it is also able to persist for many years, bringing many benefits in the long term.
Why are we doing this?
Plants and trees are a vital part of the ecosystem in which it offers many benefits, such as supporting wildlife and improving air quality. However, due to deforestation and the rapid rate of reducing forests around the world, global warming has significantly increased over the past few decades. Because of this, our organization decided to give back to the environment in hopes that we can do our part in not only reviving the environment, but also setting a good example for future generations.
